ABOUT ME I was raised in Michigan and moved to the west coast as a young woman. I quickly developed a life, friendships, and artistic interest in watercolor. Over the years, I would attain mastery in watercolor with awards, national recognition, and publication in The Best of Watercolor magazine. Acrylic painting was added with success and gallery representation. I recently completed an intensive curriculum with a new passion for oil painting. I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and spaniel. My studio overlooks a forested stream that I listen to all year. I paint nearly every day and have an adjoining gallery attached to my studio. This gallery displays my work where I can critique and refine them. This is part of my process prior to varnishing and making them available to galleries, or for purchase. |
ABOUT MY ART
Years ago I explored and painted rivers...the flow, movements around obstacles, and falls into pools. I used acrylic paint at that time with great success. Recently I have renewed my love of rivers... from the headwaters down to the esturaries, only this time am adding a new dimension to my paintings with oil paints. These waters are so alive and unique. The Pacific Northwest is a playground for nature enthusiasts hiking rivers, streams, and estuaries. My heart has landed in this new series, and I look forward to presenting you with many new watery works. My series..."THE HEALING HEARTS OF WOMEN" is a dedication to the powerful spirit in us all. These imaginary realism paintings of women have stories to share and were painted from the values I witnessed when working with women undergoing treatments for cancer. Renewal can be born of courage. And nature truly does nurture. My women portray courage, strength, and resilience. |
